A summer of REALITY tv watching.
Living my best life and consuming all the best reality tv.
Long summer days mean I have little energy or brain capacity for much more than mindless entertainment when it comes to my tv watching. Okay, I’ll just go ahead and admit it now…I’m a sucker for reality TV year round and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I love the drama (when it’s not mine) and I’m a competitor at heart.
I started the summer with Perfect Match, filled summer nights with Love Island USA and Deal or No Deal Island and now I’m wrapping the HOT summer days up with The Mole Season 2 and Big Brother 26.
Let’s get binging!
Perfect Match Season 2 (Netflix)
A group of single Netflix alumni arrive in a tropical villa where they attempt to match themselves into couples. The couples who win "compatibility challenges" get a private date and the ability to choose two new singles to bring into the game by either setting them up on a date with members of the other couples, or with themselves. Once the daters all have returned, the participants will match themselves all over again, and at the end of each night, anyone without a match must leave the villa. At the end of the series, only one couple will be chosen as the Match.
It was fun to see THREE people from Love is Blind on Season 2 of Perfect Match (Jess, Micah and Izzy). The girls have game but not sure about the boy. Poor Izzy was in a tizzy.
The guys PLAYED the game HARD and overall I think the girls deserve much better. I have some THOUGHTS on that ending but no spoilers here.
Episodes are all streaming for your binging pleasure.
Love Island USA Season 6 (Peacock)
Based on the U.K. series of the same name, the series follows islanders who couple up in new surroundings to compete in games and challenges. Throughout their stay, temptations arise and drama ensues when islanders are forced to decide if they want to remain with their current partners or "recouple" with someone new. Islanders will also be at the mercy of viewers, who vote to determine who gets another shot at love and who leaves the villa heartbroken and empty-handed. At the end of it all, one couple walks away with a cash prize.
This was mildly embarrassing to watch at times (especially with my Dad around) but I was hooked. I think the world was hooked. FAwwwwK Aaron will always be remembered. IYKYK.
My sister and I were highly entertained but we were also extremely drained from all our kids demanding snacks and entertainment 24/7. We are also busy praying our kids don’t end up on a reality show in a decade.
P.S. Anyone wanna talk about what a snooze fest that reunion was and how basic is cheese pizza from Pizza Hut?!
Deal or No Deal Island (Peacock)
In a new twist on the classic game show hosted by Joe Manganiello, 13 contestants travel to the banker's private island, where they compete in daring challenges to find hidden briefcases worth over $200 million. Then, a player is selected to face the banker in a game of "Deal or No Deal," where they bank some cash for the group pot, hoping to make a good deal and avoid being eliminated from the competition. In the end, only one contestant will outplay the others and finally beat the banker for a shot at winning the ultimate prize.
I mentioned that I was competitive so this twist to the classic game show was right up my alley. It kind of felt like a blend of Survivor (Rob is BACK) and Deal or No Deal. Alliances were made and backstabbing was expected. Stakes are HIGH with a lot of money on the line.
My teenagers enjoyed watching this as well. I love having shows we can talk about and discuss how we would play the game.
The Mole Season 2 (Netflix)
Twelve players tackle challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will win at the end; among the players is one person who has secretly been designated as the "Mole" and tasked with sabotaging the group's money-making efforts.
Season 2 is EVEN more cutthroat than season 1 and I love it! It also brings me anxiety but what doesn’t these days.
I’m currently binging this with one of my kiddos and we wish school and life wasn’t getting in the way. We should finish this weekend but still have NO idea who the Mole is! We will be anxiously awaiting another season.
Big Brother Season 26 (CBS)
Big Brother follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, someone will be voted out of the house, with the last remaining Houseguest receiving the grand prize of $750,000.
My husband and I have been watching Big Brother since 2001. I honestly don’t think we’ve missed a season in 23 years. You would think after 26 seasons that things would become predictable and boring but this season is so far from boring! The DRAMA!!!
We also have even more competitions this season and we’re 100% there for it. The whole family is locked in and only wish episodes aired more than 3 times a week.
Now tell me what I need to watch next!
Back to reading watching.

I’m not a huge reality tv fan but when I get the urge to watch something it’s usually an episode or two of Below Deck.
I love your passion for reality tv! The only show I'm watching lately is The Bachelorette and it's so boring this season I'd never recommend it haha
